Students in Ms. Vas’ class found facts on an influential person in the fight for African American Equality and use that information to write an informational paragraph.
The students in first grade bilingual were put into heterogeneous groups and assigned an influential African American to study during Black History Month. They were given multiple resources such as biographies, Raz- Kids article/stories and internet sources provided through our Google Classroom. Students worked together to collect facts from their various resources and created informational posters to showcase their figure.
Some of the people studied were: Ruby Bridges, Jesse Jackson, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Katherine Johnson and Michelle Obama.
